The preview image for this program can be found in our Miscellaneous Art section.

Description: This is a halo 2 boot logo for Win2K. Just drop the
HALOBOOT.exe file into your C:\windowsdirectoryhere\system32\
(replace windowsdirectoryhere with your real windows directory)
folder. Then, (make sure you can see hidden files) in your C:\
directory, you will find a file called boot.ini. it will look
something like this :
(DO NOT USE THIS EXAMPLE!!! I am not responsible if the boot logo
messes up your comp. use it at your own risk. However, if you follow
the instructions, there will be no problems.)

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

(If you have any of the multi, disk, rdisk or partition numbers
different in your original file, you must change them on the next
line we are adding.)

Append this line DIRECTLY after the [operating systems] heading.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Win2K Halo 2" /fastdetect /kernel=HALOBOOT.exe

So that it looks like this:

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Win2K Halo 2" /fastdetect /kernel=HALOBOOT.exe
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Next time you restart, after your bios finishes, you will see a menu
listing: "Win2K Halo 2" and "Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional"
If it has not been automatically selected already, then select Win2K
Halo 2. say hello to the kewl new boot screen!
If it does not work, and your computer crashes, next time your
computer boots, move the selection from Win2K Halo to Microsoft
Windows 2000 Professional. This will return the boot logo to normal,
and will allow you to, if you choose, remove the boot file and line
from boot.ini. DO NOT DELETE THE HALO BOOT LOGO WHEN IN USE!!!

Good Luck!

(note: I have also included a preview(haloboot.jpg). Also note that
the quality of the image is as high as can be. The windows 2K video
driver does not load until after boot, and therefore you have a max
640x480 16 colors image.
