They're Random, Baby!

Seven on the Seventh Contest

3 March 2006: Results are up now!

The Setup

Our 'once a week' contest has gotten a bit behind - mostly because time doesn't grow on trees. Action figures might, though - we've got 7 of 'em to give away, thanks to Bungie. (This contest is kicking off on the 7th - geddit? Seven on the Seventh? Huh? ...oh, never mind.)

This one is way simpler than the last one: all you need to do is come up with a Halo-related joke.

The Rules

Rules are simple, and pretty common-sense:

  • You can enter as many times as you like, but you can only win once.
  • All entries must be submitted via email to contests@bungie.org.
  • All entries must be in by 9PM, PST, on Friday, February 24, 2006.
  • All entries must be text-only. No pictures, no movies, no music... text.
  • Judging will be done by HBO/Bungie, and winners will be announced on or soon after February 27th.
  • We're looking for original content. If you use someone else's material, and we recognize it, you're disqualified. (If you sneak one by us, and win with someone else's material, we'll probably still give you the prize - but we'll make your theft public when we learn about it.)
  • The top 7 entries will win Halo Action Figures.
  • Contestants can live anywhere in the world.

Prizes are courtesy of Bungie Studios. Because they rock. Hassles involved with the contest are the responsibility of bungie.org. Because we love to deal with your problems.

The Finer Print

This is the part I hate to write, because it makes me feel bad to think folks are too lazy to actually READ the rules to a contest they're entering... but I'm writing it because folks ARE too lazy, for the most part.

If you send your entry to a different email address (like lwu@bungie.org, or halo@bungie.org, or any OTHER address at bungie.org, or any address at Bungie), or you post your entry on our forum and expect that to suffice as an entry... you ain't gonna win.

If you snag some comedian's funny joke and repurpose it for Halo and submit it... we may or may not notice it, but you can be pretty sure that SOMEONE who reads HBO will recognize it - so if you win, and we find out your material wasn't your own, we'll publicly humiliate you. Maybe it's worth it - but maybe it's not. (You'll certainly be disqualified from any FUTURE contests here.) And if any of the JUDGES recognize it, you won't even make it to the finals.

If you send us a comic, because it's so much cooler than a plain text joke, we're gonna throw it away - even if it's really funny. Don't make us throw away teh funni. Send us text.

The Finest Print

This contest (and all subsequent similar contests) is run by bungie.org. Prizes are supplied by Bungie Studios - we are NOT Bungie Studios, we just have a key to their schwag closet. Don't bug them if you've got a problem - bug US.
