What do you like to do, how old your are, what are your hobbies, etc. Well my names Tom Taylor, I'm turning 18 years old October 15th. I've been playing video games competitivly for about 3 years now. At AGP3, my first tournament, I placed 3rd with a local Florida team and have placed top 4 ever since. Thats 21 consecutive National Tournaments. When I'm not gaming, I'm usually doing something game related. Either working on my company and website www.gaming-lessons.com, reading forums, or talking to sponsors. After I finish all that I spend time with my girlfriend of going on 10 months Kristina. Shes my number 1 fan and biggest supporter What was the first video game you really got into? The first multiplayer game I got hooked on was Goldeneye 007 for N64, but the first online game was Halo: CE for Xbox. How much time do you spend playing halo 2? It really depends. If a tournament is about 1-2 weeks away I will play about 5-6 hours a day from 11PM-4/5AM. So I would say anywhere between 25-45 hours a week depending on the tournament and its prizes. Do you ever get bored of it? I take breaks to clear my mind. Sort of like lifting weights. If you lift everyday you won't improve as much as if you lift heavily one day, then rest the next. Do you play any other video games? I rarely have time for any other video games. I will play the occasional Need for Speed Underground 2 on Xbox or Heroes of Might and Magic. Thats only if I have tons of spare time, bored of Halo, or can't fall asleep. Out of all the players you've met, who do you think is the best halo 2 player in the world?
Halo 2 isn't an individual game. Theres 2 amazing teams, and 2 great teams. [Halo specific questions] How did you get so good at Halo? Practicing and playing with other people. Its the way to get good at anything really...basketball, poker, video games... If someone wanted to get better at Halo, what advice would you give them?
Theres one of 2 things. MLG and I run a video game lesson company called Gaming-Lessons (www.gaming-lessons.com). It was featured in Octobers Electronic Gaming Monthly as how their intern went from worst to first. Gaming-Lessons has the best instructors and pro players in the world. Ranging from Zyos, Xena, Lil Poison, to myself. What is the most important part of being a good halo player? Instinct. You can't explain it or just get it you have to work for it. Its what happens when you get shot twice, or get sniped at once and have no shields. Its how you react to situations and how you put other players in situations they dont want to be in. I would love to play halo with the top players, and would love to place up top in an MLG tournament. I'm pretty sure everyone else will too. What advice would you give to good players trying to "break into" the pro scene of halo? Like I said the best, and one of the only ways to get in touch with or even play a pro gamer is attend a tournament. If you cant make it to a tournament, seriously consider getting lessons through www.Gaming-Lessons.com. You get to pick the pro you want to learn from, they will take you under your wing, and improve your game DRAMATICALLY. Check the site for more information. What is your favorite map? Lockout What is your favorite weapon? Sniper Rifle... I love taking faces. What is your favorite gametype, and how do you go about winning it? Lockout Team slayer. I don't plan on giving my strats out to the public either :-p I just destroy everyone thats all. We all know that team 3D was dethroned by TmG. You beat every other team out there to it. How does that feel? Feels great, beating 3D was a goal for me all year. I think what it came down to was we wanted it more. Our team is so intense verse every team either round 1 or in the finals. After you win its just that much more satisfying. What do you plan to do with your gaming career in the future? Im going to be gaming as long as possible. I love everything about it. The fans (even though I barely have time to answer them), the media coverage, the tournaments, traveling, the video games in general. I wouldn't have it any other way!
