Fails of the Weak 180
Jack and Geoff are back for Fails of the Weak 180 (that's a lot of FotW episodes!) - you can watch it on AH.com or YouTube, as always. My favorite this week - the massive Red Death on Exile. Both Jack and Geoff saw the slaughter coming when 6 Reds got together in a narrow hallway - both seemed to miss the fact that death did not come from a Blue, but from the Red in the middle with a rocket launcher. It's not just a one-shot Killtrocity - it's a one-shot Killtrocity betrayal. Wonga! Thanks, Nikko B201. (Louis Wu 17:17:07 UTC)

Kicking Halo's Butt
slYnki has completed a pretty impressive task... he's done a single-segment, no-deaths Legendary run of Halo (the first one)... in under 2 hours. Wonga! Go read his description, and find links to both the run itself and audio commentary, in his forum post. (Louis Wu 15:34:11 UTC)

Rubbing it in their faces
Tex posted her writeup of the HBO Mountain Bash - all I can say is wonga. Sounds like anyone who wasn't there missed a killer weekend! Go read, look at the pictures. (The ice tree shot is astounding.) (Louis Wu 22:22:23 UTC)

A Blocky Ringworld
We've mentioned a lot of Halo LEGO creations - but I don't think I've ever seen a full Halo ring before. Check out Catsy's monster creation (11,000 blocks!). Wonga. (There are other shots, showing off other parts of the ring. I repeat - wonga.) Thanks, TCKaos. (Louis Wu 16:38:10 UTC)

The Pentathlon Awaits
The Halo content is so slim as to be invisible (it consists of a couple of video screens in a single photo), but the Bungie Pentathlon is an annual event of great importance to Bungie employees (and Bungie fans) - and we're pretty big Bungie fans here, so we're gonna tell you about the latest article on Bungie.net. Deej has written up a nice summary of this year's event (which takes place tomorrow), including a mini-interview with Dave Dunn. For the first time in a really long time, there are no Halo games at all in the lineup. Wonga! We'll still be roothing for the Grizzled Ancients, though, cause old people have to stick together. Go read about it! (Louis Wu 17:46:30 UTC)

Huge Reach-themed giveaway at Marissa's Bunny
Marissa's Dad sent word of another Reach Console giveaway at Marissa's Bunny, the site devoted to raising awareness for Infantile Spasms. This one's pretty massive - the winner will walk away with a Reach Special Edition xBox 360 Slim, a Kinect unit, a copy of the Reach Legendary Edition, and a $500 Gamestop gift card. Wonga. To be entered, you have to vote for the blog and let them know (read the instructions for full details). You can also get extra entries by letting them know what you'd do with the card. Not bad! This one runs for two weeks (it started a couple of days ago) - what do you have to lose? (While you're there, be sure to learn a little something about Marissa's disease, and consider dropping something in the hat.) (Louis Wu 02:59:20 UTC)

If you live in the US, and you're any good at all at building maps, you should check out the Bungie Reach Forgetacular Contest - Bungie's offering 7 Limited Edition Halo: Reach Xbox 360 consoles (!!!) to the winners. May I be the first to say... wonga. (Louis Wu 14:28:26 UTC)

Two new trilogies and a movie? Wonga.
Hmm... during a panel discussion at New York Comic Con last night, Jeff Gomez, President and CEO of Starlight Runner, a PR company, previewed a slide showing some of the upcoming stuff from the Halo franchise - "two new trilogies starting in 2012/2013 with a major motion picture set for release by 2014." Wow... that's a lot of content. Thanks, Exanubisleader. (Louis Wu 20:16:01 UTC)

The Ultimate Halo Fragvid Collection
low strife is putting together a really, really big collection of 'Fragvids' - if you've got 231 GB free on a drive somewhere, grab the torrent from this page, or read about it on Halo 3 Forum first. This is one of those places where "wonga" works. (Louis Wu 18:41:58 UTC)

One million strong... and growing
We hit post 1 million last night on our forum - if I did the math right, that's an average of just over 10 posts per hour, every hour, for the last 4087 days. All I can say is 'wonga'. (And 'thanks'.) (Louis Wu 15:00:28 UTC)

Reach Limited Edition Guide has goodies
Over at NeoGAF, The Crawf pointed out a link for the Halo: Reach Limited Edition Guide. It's a normal guide in a lot of senses - has maps, walkthroughs, Achievement hints... but it also has an "[e]xclusive 96 page developer's diary with concept art and personal commentary from the design team at Bungie studios." Wonga. I think that might sell a few extra of these to hardcore fans... (For folks in the US, Amazon has this for $23.99 (a dollar more than the UK version), available September 3 (almost 2 weeks earlier than the UK version).) (Louis Wu 14:13:44 UTC)

More Mythic than you can shake a golf club at
In honor of the release of the Mythic Map Pack today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Bungie has posted a roundup of cool tidbits you might or might not know about. Download links for the game, for the trailer, for the theme, the new project page on B.net plus a community spotlight of fan-created content, a reminder that Bungie Pro is free for three months for Mythic players, a summary of recent news, a recap of the 'Game with Flame' community event, and a reminder about yesterday's Podcast release (bandwidth is TOTALLY not a problem any more). Darkspire's back.
Wonga. Darkspire Films is back - with two new products (and the promise of another pair). Aynder Seal is six and a half minutes long, weighs in at 180 mb, and is confusing as hell. Luna Habladora is six minutes long, 250 mb, and a lot less serious. It involves, as the title might suggest... a talking moon. They're both part of the same storyline. Both are in HD QuickTime format (1280x720), and recorded at 60fps. Thanks, SaberUmbra. (Louis Wu 21:48:42 UTC)

More Halo Goodies in the Fable II LCE
What the... Ross Mills pointed out an article at Kotaku that details the contents of the Fable II Limited Collector's Edition - and among the stuff you'd EXPECT in a fantasy game, there's a listing for "Spartan armor and energy sword". Now, we already knew about the Spartan armor - but there's an energy sword, too? Wonga. (Louis Wu 14:10:44 UTC)
