Rocket Sloth Spins the Tale of a Lost CE Easter Egg Youtuber Rocket Sloth recently posted a video about a mysterious image discovered in the Gearbox port of Combat Evolved, and the curious rediscovery of the cut Easter egg in an old build of the game years later. HBO's forums circa 2003 (and some LAN parties) make star appearances, and it's a fun look back. Thanks, Hyokin.

We're Old, and 'A Fistful of Arrows' is 10 Levi popped in the forum to let us know that today is the anniversary of the start of work on his excellent fan comic A Fistful of Arrows, which started dropping pages in October on this very site. Cry when you realize how much time has passed, laugh when you realize that means you can reread the comic once more! (fuchsdh 02:27:43 UTC)
Bad Cyborg is now local For years (well, decades - we started reporting on his megabattle obsession in early 2004), Rockslider has been exploring the depths of the original Halo physics, and reporting his results. There are literally hundreds of videos in his collection, and the level of his commitment has been breathtaking. Recently, however, he announced that he was moving on from Halo, and that he was going to let the badcyborg.net domain expire. We offered a local archive, and he took us up on the offer - so this amazing collection of videos, started before Halo 3: ODST launched, continues to be available to you. Go explore!(Louis Wu 20:04:33 UTC)

Twenty Years. That's 10 Generations of Opposums. It's a little sad that I would have allowed this to go by without a mention had it not been for GrimBrother One (I'm not even sure I remembered what month it is, much less the day)... but two decades ago, on this day, HBO came into being, starting as blam.bungie.org. To everyone who's ever visited, who's participated in our forums or sent us fan creations to share with the world or simply used our news page to keep up on the details about one of the best console shooters ever... Cheers! We're not quite old enough to drink here in the US, yet... but we'll still raise a glass to Halo, and Bungie, and 343. And all of you. (Louis Wu 15:07:20 UTC)

Artist Jamie Bull Creates Awesome Set of Posters for Original Halo Trilogy Artist Jamie Bull got excited about the prospect of a new Halo game and created some pretty amazing posters for the original trilogy. Their poster for Halo: CE features your first ringworld experience, Halo 2 hints at your Gravemind introduction and Halo 3 rekindles the Chief's explosive re-entry to Earth quite beautifully. You can follow the complete story on Reddit as they're looking to possibly screenprint these! (MacGyver10 15:52:34 UTC)

Rockslider Has New Videos of Merging Silver and Gold Elites, as Well as Pillar of Autumn Crewman Rockslider continues to put out impressive content with a couple of new videos! Their first shows off a new color of merged elites (as well as a how-to to accomplish these merged Covenant corpses!) using merged silver and gold elites in Halo: CE. The next one seems a little creepy to me using human, but hey, the effect of merging POA crewman is pretty cool, and fun as well when they start using the grunts to help! (MacGyver10 21:33:23 UTC)
Catching Up with The Halo Community Update 05/24/18 - 'Duty in Battle' Well summer has started for the MacGyver family, but Halo news didn't get the memo to slow down (even more so than it already has during this dryspell of mainline Halo game news)! Thanks to davidfuchs for the heads up on last week's Halo Community Update! Looks like the new Fireteam arcade game is mentioned with a FAQ (canon story, coming to places other than Dave & Busters/North America), some details on upcoming e-sports stuff and MCC community playdate all in one place. (MacGyver10 21:29:33 UTC)
The Halo TV Series with Steven Spielberg Possibly Starting to Film in October in Budapest, Hungary While we might need to take this with a grain of salt right now, it seems the Halo TV series might have a filming location and start time for this October in Budapest, Hungary. As of right now, we have no confirmation (no, fake Kiki accounts don't count) if this is true or not, but hopefully this is actually going to happen! (MacGyver10 15:16:29 UTC)
