That movie? Still on hold.
Kotaku got word from a Microsoft spokesperson that despite the rumors of a Spielberg-produced, Beattie-written Halo project, the Halo Movie project "remains on hold as [they] focus on projects like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach." (Louis Wu 13:32:33 UTC)
