The Great Halo Scavenger Hunt
Welcome to the party! On this page, you'll find all the information you need to get started on one of the most far-reaching contests Bungie.org has attempted to date!
What is it?
The Great Halo Scavenger Hunt is exactly what it sounds like: a scavenger hunt. Scattered around the online Halo world are 'trinkets' - lots and lots of trinkets. Ten of them, in fact. What are they? Well, that varies. Many of them mention 'trinket' specifically... and hopefully, by the time you find the ones that don't, you'll know what you're looking at when you find it.
Not to worry... if the search proves too difficult, clues will be forthcoming. (Don't wait for them, though - because prizes go to the first folks to complete the hunt.)
How do I play?
Pretty simple. Gather the trinkets, figure out what you're supposed to do with them (and how you're supposed to do it)... and do it.
...wait, did that sound vague? Don't worry; by the time you get to the 'do it' step, you'll understand what it means.
What can I win?
A LOT of stuff. We got Bungie to cough up a mountain of schwag for this contest - we wanted winning to be worth your while.

Random Drawing Prizes - Everyone who successfully completes the hunt but doesn't place in the top 7 will be entered into a drawing to win a variety of prizes. Here's what's up for grabs: (one prize per person)

Who can play?
The Great Halo Scavenger Hunt is open to anyone, with the exception of staff or family of staff of any site housing trinkets. Contestants can win only one prize in this contest; if entries for multiple prizes arrive from the same individual, the first one (chronologically) will be awarded. All other entries will be discarded.
Winners will be identified by their email address. This means two things: if you give us an invalid address, we cannot award you any prizes (they will be distributed to other contestants), and only one contestant per email address can participate.
All prizes will be awarded; if there are unclaimed prizes at the end of the Hunt, clues will be given until all are claimed.
In the case of disputes, judgement of the staff of HBO is final.
