consequence of this singular level loading behavior. Because the only
supported way to run the game requires a level to load, it has been very
difficult for us to develop interactive tools for viewing and editing data
that doesn't need a level loaded, e.g., interactively editing particle
effects or viewing animations. What usually happened is that we added
scripting commands in the game engine to manually load a given tag and use
the automatic reloads to update it on the fly. |
