Germain Couët | Master Chief Helmet
The home-crafted helmets continue. This one comes from Germain Couët, a regular contributor to our Misc Art and Wallpaper sections. This material arrived in mid-February, 2005:
"At the beginning of october i decided to make myself a master chief helmet. most surprisingly, it turned out pretty good. I think I got the best proportions yet. even better than the nightmare armor and much, much less expensive.
My goal was to finish it on november 9th, but I won't be able to put the finishing coat until a day or two. The helmet itself is made of cereal box cardboard, another really strong type of cardboard, some styrofoam carved into blocks to make the inner structure and lots of duct tape. Here are some pictures of the first stage." |

"before continuing I scotch taped ondulated cardboard to do some bump mapping.
then, I used a mix of plain old white glue and water (50% water, 50% glue, mix em together) and pasted it on the helmet using napkin-kitchen paper ( I don't know what you call it ).
I let it to dry for about ten hours and It becomes rock hard. here are some pictures of the second stage." |

It turns out these were originally sent in November, but they never arrived here. When we DID get them, there was one more, showing the helmet with a motorcycle visor Germain bought to put inside... |
