Well, happy-skip-yay-doodle for us feeling sorry for ourselves. Freshmen are not stupid, people, I'm one as well. Frensa and I apparently share many things when it comes to writing.

well i am an 8th grader stuck in a hell hole school, my adminator looks like a jackal ( I am not kidding he runs around the school all hunched backed lol)our new police offcer has issues. He's called the flood combat form,(today he pulled a girl by her hair, cause she was talking mess to him!)the 6th grade admin looks looks like the Barbie doll, Ken and is tall as a tree, he's called the spec ops grunt. And most of our staff look like flood carrier types.

your probably thinking whos "we"?
we are the Halo table an Evil conspiracy who gathers in lunch to rebel against school rules.
armed with Panda(vanilla coke) and Haloaded(sprite remix) we are a deadly force.;p

LOL I find HS in Florida easier then middle school in Missouri. Then again, maybe its because ALL my damn classes are the same thing MO students learned in 6th grade!

and on homework, I don't get much in alot of my classes except for Vocabulary in Spanish[ugh, talk about TEDIOUS!] and VERY RARELY LIKE WHEN SHE GIVES IT AT THE END OF CLASS in Algebra.

BTW, whats everybody's GPA?

the talk of school is killing me lol. am i the only non-freshman here? grade eleven baby, graduating soon! anyway, hope y'all survive high school and for those who haven't gone there yet. look out, cuzz man it's a lot different than elementary school.

even if you are younger or older, everyone here rocks at writing stories. the odd mistake, but that's life. the overly used phrase "humans aren't perfect" is perfect here. many of us can't keep up with the homework situation. luckily for me, i have co-op, so i only take two subjects a day 8D. This allows me to write "Survival"

take care now and write on, everyone here is awesome!

Oh, man, metallicafan, feel your pain too, I had to take Algebra 2 years in a row also. Same shit, x-2=blah blah blah. Cept my school gives 100 point assignments.

Freshman, all I can say is that you should enjoy it while it lasts, cause 2 weeks into Sophomore year you're up at 12:07, posting on HBO, directly after you studied for 3 hours for a History 10 test on European trade circa 1450-1600.

Like me.

I'm gonna study my Foreign Language now, and hope I get at least 2 hours worth of sleep befor I take that test first period.

BTW FOrrunER, I can DEFINENTLY say that I had more homework in 8th grade then you, and in fact, probably EVERYBODY.[I took Algebra in 8th, ane to get a taste of the work, about a couple of weeks in we had a huge assignment worth about 54 points, and we had barely learned anything! Probaby about 50 questions right off the bat in the school year. But now I gotta take that damn class again cause it didn't count for credit, and I moved!

Forerunner...the younger they are, the more they curse.

Hornet, if you want a more mature audience, why not stick with the stories and head to the forum. some of the people here are immature and whatnot, but that sort of stuff just isn't accepted on the forum. Cheers!

I ain't even twenty yet, but maybe I am too old to hang around here. Writing experience is one thing, but hanging out with a bunch of high school freshman is totally different (no offense.) Well, I've finished my series, this might be the end of my run here on HBO for a long while.

I'd give all you guys advice about high school, but I wouldn't have listened to it when I was your age and I don't think you'll listen to me. Just have fun, and learn from your mistakes.

Oh man, oh man oh man. I-I feel your pain, I've got only so much time to check HBO for news, let alone read and write fan fiction. Summer is gone for another nine months, thus limited Fall of Fates will be posted. When I saw 'Frensa Geran' as the author, I knew I could take 5 an read your story. Yeah, Freshman year is different in the begining, it gets better, but harder in Sophmore year. So if anyone is asking why the Fall of Fate part 13 isnt out yet, Frensa has has taken the words out of my "mouth".

For the love of god don't go as cortana! I skimmed this thing, not really caring about social life, but overall it looked good. Honestly I think that govermetns around the world have been contemplating Neo-Spartans, of course not under that name, but still...they're watching...always watching!

LOL nice story man. I haven't read any of your fanfics YET. i'll read a few over the weekend when I have time.

o,and I feel your pain about the freshmen thing. I'm a freshman too. LOL but I have about an hour a night to...well, write fanfics![I normally would just do them on weekends, but something is glitchy on the forum that takes up 95 percent of my tim...err...life.....so I'm bored.LOL]

and follow jackson on what he says about thinking of them during school. I've thought most of mine up in school, but [LOL] I forgot most of it, which explains the mess I'm in...

Sympathy...oozing form my pores....you know Frensa, let's skip the personal life thing ;)

When I wrote Stacker, I just had this IDEA. One day, while riding my bike around, I had this awesome, alternate-ending-to-Halo moment, where I envisioned MC helping up a traumatised Sergeant Stacker. Since then, with the help of (coincidence?) Traumitised Marine, I began to focus. Inspiration came in from multiple sources: listening to "Hymn to the Fallen" from Saving Private Ryan. I would just sit at my computer and brainstorm, then write down all that I could. I would then send what I had written to TM, who, feeling that my writing was above him, would amke little comments, that, to me, were akin to an archer slowly steadying his aim on a target. TM helped me to to hone in on what I needed, and then he would tell me to let loose.

So, my piece of advice for you is to find an outlet. Send what you have written to somebody you know in the Fan Fic community. Whether it's Steele, 'Nsolee, Agent Shade, or myself (my current email adress can be found on the forums) just find somebody who you can confide in and take comments from. However, don't expect too much- you had the vision, and we don't have what you have. We can help, we can tell you what we want to see, but we can't write it. For instance, after reading Buried Treasure 4 I actually had a lucid dream about the next one. Of course, what happened in my dream was very different form what happened in number 5, but the coll thing I gleaned from it was Chief waking up automatically and the sound of an Assualt Rifle being cycled. Yours was so much better though, and I'm happy with the way everyhting's turned out.

I was also kidding aobut the personal life thing. I wrote Stacker while I was a Freshman in high-school. Time was hard, but I would just force myself to sit down and write after doing homework...I abstained from food and drink to concentrate on my writing :-)

Your writing is also far ahead of your grade-level...you've gotten the grammar, syntax, and structure of your stories down pat. Detail is great. Take heart in what you've already done. Don't worry about what we think anyway: I raved about your stories because they were so original, so fresh...so good, ESPECIALLy compared to some of the stuff other people write. Your comment in the comments section that one time, something like, "Chiefy is mine until Halo 2 comes out" is a perfect example. Don't lose your confidence now, when you've come so far.

Email me if you have trouble- this is the community of HBO. We'll be there for you!

*leans back in chair, contemplating*

Yes, very interesting. Finding time can always be a problem. I'm fortunate to be in college, so I have nothing but time on my hands. But high school, especially if your involved in extracurricular activities, can be rather time-consuming.

As for your writing, I'm sorry I never read any of your series, but after reading this I'm going to pounce on the next fanfic I see from you. You have a very good sense of how to connect with your audience, and a lot of the things you described are things that have happen or happen every day to me and probably everyone else.

Sorry I can't give writing advice, but like I said, I haven't read any of your fanfics yet. But judging from this, I say you are much farther along than a lot of authors here.

Holy crap, are you seriously only starting high school? From your writing I couldnt tell, you sounded much much older. I quickly became engulfed and addicted to your Buried Treasure series, and I kept looking for the rest. I was wondering if I had just missed the posting of it or something, but I didn't come up with anything new from a search. It's nice of you to keep us posted, and as a junior in high school, I understand your situation. Honestly, I found sophomore year to be the easiest. Your freshman year will determine your entire high school career, so it's good that you understand your priorities. The first few days are difficult, but trust me, it should get a lot easier. Don't feel bad if you can't find the time to put your stuff out there, that's fine... most of us here should understand from experience where you're coming from. A suggestion I can offer is to write down ideas while you are in school. That thing with Reunion from Destruction coming from science class is exemplary (
