James Kinella: you want creativity? read my other story "Taken From a Four Year Old". I loved that one, and so did others. The combat aspect of Halo is so overdone, hardly anything new can come of it.
el_halo_diablo: It's not Dimes Up. It's a saying meaning to put in a dime so that a player can get into the game. It's called anteing. The game itself is called Texas Hold 'Em.

they were playing texes hold 'em right? now thats a real man's game. none of that wussy five card draw crap. i won five buck last night playing that same game. good story.

So the entire thing was about a card game with some Marines. I don't see the deep connection with Halo, other than the Marines and the Pelican, but I'll give you props for creativity.
