Just for clarification:
Ace reposted the first 6 chapters (the prologue and chapters 1-5) along with this one and the next one; a cursory glance showed that there were no changes between the versions (and our policy is actually not to accept rewrites anyway), so if you can't remember this story (it was originally posted in May), go back and click the 'Read this Series' link to start from the beginning.
