I figure I've gotten their thought pattern down pretty well. So I feel comfortable using them.

Well, if you write about them well, and make them sound like Spartans, then I wouldn't see a problem.
But I have read several stories where people tried to describe the Spartans' training and made them sound like middle schoolers in a military base.

I use Spartans all the time in mine, and Helljumper never said a thing to me!

Well, I'm lazy, and I have read the books, at least five times each. It is the only way.

Oh, you haven't read your book enough until the dog-ears don't unfold, and page glue starts to fail!

Yeah, I know about the code thing...now. It's my first fanfic though, so gimme a break.

As for the thing about reading the books, I have (waaaaay too many times, at that), but I thought I would throw in the twist with Grace...guess people don't like it too much.

Oh yes. Helljumper has jumpstarted my mind on that. Don't write about Spartans until you thouroghly read the books (more than once). Else, they sound off.

I don't find stories that don't use the code THAT much harder to read...it does kinda get annoying though.

Hey Jeremy is right, stories without the code are hard to read, thats a fact. I personally didn't read it because he writes about SPARTANS

Well, it looks like I've taught you well, my young Padawan. But yeah, even though it is as annoying as mosquitos up my nose, we have to "try" to give some slack on the first story (but that doesn't apply here because he decided to post his first 4 chapters). Bit usually, I forego that little piece of...whatever.
Well, you (Author) are basing this on a MP level that isn't even out yet. Still, that way you get to use your imagination.
I'm tempted to say more, but I'll reserve judgemetn for the next chapters.

I sent him an email giving him a couple of tips.

I give him til the second story before I stop reading. We've told him about the code. If he's too lazy to ask about it or look it up, that's his problem.

Barely anyone uses the code in their first story, Jeremy, so cut him some slack.

I know I'm new around here, and have gotten a lot of help from the regulars. I can't read this. I stopped reading it because of the usage of "the code." You didn't use it.
