Thousands of years go by. The Forerunner's ability to conquer starsystems and maximize space exploration, has come to a climax. They have used up all of their home planet's natural recources. Millions of Forerunner die in what could only be equivilant to a starvation holocaust. The few that are left try to form small city-states on Halo, but without support from a nearby planet...there is not an adequet amount of nutrition on the Ancient ring world.
As the remaining ships evacuate Halo, '343 Guilty Spark' is given the assignment of gaurding the ancient weapon. The monitor stays in contact with the Forerunner for many years. He learns that apparently the species had divided in two. One group went to a newly discovered world only half a light year away. The other traveled for many years to find a suitable homeworld, only to die out a few months after their arrival. When the first group reached their desired location, they lost contact with the monitor, never to hear from it again.
They find themselves on a blue world in a nine planet star system. The planet has eight land masses surrounded on all sides by oceans composed entirely of water. They found that the most suitable one for a colonization was the smallest, The Forerunner called their mass of land, Atlantia.
Shortley after it's colonization, the world was named, Terranis. Terranis has one moon, and almost exactly the same atmosphere as the Forerunner's previous conquest, Halo. Within fifty years of their arrival, their Space equipment was destroyed by violent hurricanes.
Without the Forerunner's ability to build immense starships, they are forced to revert all of their technology into building a grand city. The city was known as Atlantis. Atlantis boasted huge skyscrapers, roads, temples, and homes. Most of the larger buildings were constructed of damaged hull peices from obsolete space cruisers. Other buildings, and all of the roads, were made of rocks and minerals native to Terranis. The most common building materials were gold silver and marble.
With their new city, covering most of the continent. The Forerunner decide that if they cannot control the weather, as they have done previously, they would harness it, and use it to their advantage. The species build aquaducts, and sewer systems. They also learn how to harness wind. Small boats are built for the first time with sails.
Within the two hundred thousand years of Atlantia's existance, it was never discovered by any of the planets other inhabitants, except small winged creatures called birds. The Atlantians soon became obsessed with birds. So obsessed, that wars amongst the species were started over who had rights to the meat of the birds for food.
The wars became so violent. That use of water-travel had become forbidden, keeping everyone on the continent against their will.
In the final stages of the last civil war,(around 28,000 B.C.) large amounts of explosives were rigged all around the continent. In order to stop the wars, and the controversial future of the species, the entire continent was to be obliterated. But instead it had only sunk. The survivors of the explosion drowned in the middle of the ocean, and the Forerunner were no more.

In the year 1027 B.C, a young human child is playing with his brothers and sisters in a small bay on the Greek island of Crete. One of his younger sisters points out a strange object floating amongst the waves. Curious, the girl goes to see what it is. She picks it up and alerts her siblings to come and see. The eldest points out that it is a rock. One of the boys rejects the idea saying that a rock of this size could not float. Curious of their find, they take it back to their home to show their parents.
Their father, who happens to be an engraver for a local scientist, notices that this rather large rock, cannot weigh more than an ounce. He takes it over to where he cuts firewood, and tries hitting it with his axe. Not a dent nor a spark come from the stone.
As darkness comes and the light of the moon is upon them, fine lines begin to appear in the stone. As the engravings become clearer and brighter, the man walks back over to it. The symbols look like a form of old Egyption hyroglyphs.
The next morning, the man tells his employer of the strange symbols. and what he thought they might be. As soon as he saw this, he recognized one of the symbols, that of a falcon. It means Horus, the preeminant divine being. The scientist embarked on a journey to Egypt the next day, to try and find what any of the other symbols might mean.
It takes him nearly a week to get across the Mediteranean in his large fishing boat. When he finally reaches the enterance to the Nile, he is overjoyed with the feeling of accomplishment. But his journey does not end until he has reached his destination, Tanis. There he posed as a Greek messenger in search of the Pharoah, King Psusennes. He is finally granted access to speak with the ruler about his claim.
Psusennes is not sure what kind of materials the stone is made of, He has never seen anything like it in Egypt before, so he translates the hyroglyphs. After a few moments he explains what the stone says. "Isle Of Atlantia Great Kingdom Of Horus Lost To The Darkness Of The Deep."
After learning of the stone, the Greek scientist went into town to see if anyone had heard of the Isle of Atlantia. As he was asking about the strange place, a thief came up behind him, slit his throat and took the unique stone.
