The Master Chief looked out the window of the Longsword at the green-blue blob that is Earth and the hundreds of purple blobs surrounding it. As he turned away from the window Cortana interrupted the Master Chief thoughts "Chief, we have to find some way to stop the Covenant. The UNSC forces have destroyed most of the attack ships but some of the smaller destroyers and most of the Covenant troop carriers were still on their way to Earth. Chief, we need to stop the carriers, there aren't enough UNSC ships alive to defend Earth and already some of the ships have landed their troops on Earth." As the Chief was taking all this in Cortana was already planning an assault course towards the nearest ship. "Well alright lets go." said the Spartan as he headed for the weapons locker.
"Damn, Chief we've been hit by a Covenant plasma mine left by the attack force. We need to find a way to get to Earth before it's destroyed... Ok here's what we do, we fuse together the remaining Archer missiles and remove the warheads. From there we should be able to use the launchers to fire ourselves toward the destroyer Andromeda." After 30 minutes worth of work the missiles could be fired without the warhead and with the Master Chief strapped to the front instead. The ensuing trip took slightly less then five minutes and the entire way Cortana was contacting all sorts of people not least of which was the captain of the flagship Andromeda. As the chief raced towards the rapidly approaching hull of the Andromeda, the Andromeda lowered it's shields and the Master Chief disengaged from the makeshift booster pack, attempted to slow down and entered the secondary ground exit bay or the SGEB for short, not an attractive acronym but suitable for the Master Chief's purposes.
When the Master Chief landed in the bay Captain Sherbert Bugle was waiting for him. "Master Chief, it's good to see a Spartan especially after that incident at Reach. Anyway down to business we need to commandeer a Covenant ship as our weapons are not working well enough to stop the remaining forces. Unfortunately we have no Longswords to spare and a lifeboat would just get destroyed, so any ideas?" explained the Captain to the Master Chief. Cortana instantaneously responded, "Yes actually I do have one let's use this bay to launch the Master Chief at one of the ships and then from there we can take control of the bridge and vent the atmosphere out of the ship." From behind the facemask of his now badly damaged suit the Master Chief sighed. All this fighting in the last three days and he had very little time to just rest. As this was going through the Chief's mind his thoughts were once again interrupted but this time by the captain's reply. "Sounds like it might work but first let's give you your new armour. Please proceed to deck three section five where the armour is being stored." After hearing this news the Master Chief was feeling quite a bit more relieved. He was thankful that he had not only a chance to rest but also new armour.
The next day the Master Chief made his way to where the armour was being unpacked and as he got there the Chief Technician greeted him. "Welcome Master Chief we have got your new suit unpacked and it has more new features which your should be aware of, by the way just so you know the suit is called APOLLO. First of all it has enhanced mechanics so you run twice as fast, jump twice as fast and punch twice as hard. Secondly the shields and armour are twice as strong. Third, there is a grapple attached to the suit that will allow you to reach places before thought unreachable. Fourth, the suit is equipped with a small but powerful laser and a mechanical lock pick which can be used to open Human and Covenant doors. Fifth, there is a small cable added to your suit which will allow you to operate the secondary weapons of vehicles such as the gun on the Warthog and so on. Sixth, the suit is equated with a small jet pack capable of launching you ten meters in the air. Finally, there is a special slot in your suit with two specialized pistols built in and you can still carry two big weapons. So now that you know all the cool goodies within your suit do you want to test it out. Oh by the way let me explain the two pistols. They have a 4x zoom and fire long-range explosive shells." The Master Chief looked at the technician, smiled, nodded and put on the suit.
Later that day after the Master Chief had gone through the basic testing of the suit he arrive at the weapons range. As he entered the range a tired and nervous captain greeted him. "Captain Sherbert" "Please call me Bert" "Ok, Bert what's wrong." The captain shivered and replied " We've arrived at Earth and there is two Covenant ships that our under our position now that you could launch to, if you're ready?" "Well I guess there isn't much choice so lets go." " Ok pick up a battle rifle on your way towards the SGEB." The Master Chief nodded and headed towards the elevator. As he got off the elevator and headed down the tunnel, he passed the weapons locker grabbed a battle rifle and headed for the SGEB. As he entered the bay he keyed something on the all and the bay door's started to open. The Master Chief ran towards a pillar in the middle of the room and ducked behind it. When he was convinced that there was enough air going out of the room to create the appropriate thrust he jumped out from behind the pillar and was launched towards the teardrop-shaped troop carrier orbiting Earth. Racing towards the ship Cortana was coming up with all sorts of plans to capture the ship but the Master Chief had only one, kill all of the Covenant bastards onboard.
