The two marine squads had boarded their asigned pelicans for the hour long flight. Private William P. Turner glanced around the pelican looking at the squad ONI had hand picked his pelican contained Doug Jennings, Franklin Smith, Henry Cortez, Bill Hamilton, Hakime Muhamed, Tom Dilner, and Sgt. Steven Rodgers.
"Tom do you have your sniper rifle for this mission?" said Henry
"Yeah I always bring it with me." said Tom
The COM link came on in the pelicans speakers and Sgt. Elmer Jackson's voice cut through the static.
"Sergent Rodgers I trust you have your squad ready to move ass soon as we touch down." said Elmer
"Yes, and maintain radio silence from now on their sensers range" said Sgt. Rodgers
"Five minutes marines."hollered the pilot trough the open hatch
The marines finished gatheringtheir ammo and ecuipment and got ready to jump before the pelican landed and get out of there. The marines jumped from the pelican five feet from the ground and sprinted to the tree line and waited for second squadd to arrive. They waited a few minutes before they dropped out and ran to their postion.
"The cruiser is half a kilometer north of our current position." announced James Mcafrey
"Lets move out before they know we're here" said Sgt. Rodgers
They stopped on the ridge before the covenant cruiser scanning the area.
"Stay low and in the trees theres an open spot on the other side without covenant partrols we will board from that side." said Henry
They moved slowly through the trees careful not to be seen until they arrived at the other side and prepared to move for the gravlift.
"Second squad cover us while we move to the grav lift" said Sgt. Rodgers
After Sgt. Rodgers said that 4 Elites, 2 Brutes, and 2 hunters came down the grav lift and they would have to either kill them or find a way around them.
"Tom move over there and put on your silencer and take them out"said Sgt. Rodgers
Tom moved to the tree and aimed at the farthest hunter and fired he emtied the clip and loaded another before two hunters and two elites hit the ground he fired at the brutes hitting them directly in the throat killing them.
"Move to the lift marines!" said Sgt. Rodgers
They made it to the lift undetected.
"No more talking from now on."said Sgt. Jackson
Aboard the ship they moved for the bridge they turned down a hall they thought headed to the bridge when three elites rounded the corner from the opposite direction immediatly firing upon the squads Zach Irand was on point and was cut down before he could react. Fire! The combined fire from the marines took out the elites quickly butannounced to the whole ship they were aboard.
"Run!" shouted Franklin
They moved as fast as they could to the bridge and waited outside the door while Chuck Jenkins placed explosives on the door.
"Bomb planted step back while I blow it." said Chuck
The door blew open and plasma fire erupted from inside killing Henry Cortez and Jimmy Brown before any marines fter they hit the blood stained deck William tossed a grenade then the rest did so and the plasma fire decreased. Bill Hamilton worked up the guts to charge in and opened up with his shotgun he saw 10 elites 4 hunters 2 brutes and a prophet the hunters and brutes were just waiting for them to enter. Bill primed a grenade and threw it at the brutes he killed one and wounded the other which he quickly fired at it and caught it above the eye when a hunter firedhe dodged it but it struck behind him flinging him acroos the room slamming into the wall. James Mcafrey dropped his assault rifle and drew his rocket launcher he moved to the door and fired at the closest hunter blowing it into pieces thenfired at the next hitting it in the chest he moved back into the hall and reloaded while the hunters unleashed a barrage of fire into the hall. The elites started firing at the door again and two moved in the hall and fired and wounded Hakime Muhamed who fell to the deck cluching his side. Bill Hamilton regainded his feet unnoticed and he picked up a plasma grenade and stuck it to the prophet blowing its head clean off. James Mcafrey moved to the door agian and fired at the remaining hunters killing them but was hit by elites plasma fire. Bill Hamilton moeved up behind some of the elites and fired at point blank range killing three he toosed a grenade at some elites and killed two they were down to three elites left when the other marines came in gun blazing bullets peppered the walls and elites.
"Put on your oxygen masks." said Sgt. Rodgers
The marines put on their masks and turned of the atmosphere in the ship to kill the rest of the covenant in the ship. They had the atmosphere of for a few minutes until no life signs were detected.
"Lets take this thing to HQ." said Sgt. Jackson
Doug Jennings was working on Hakime while the others flew the ship Bill Hamilton stood by Jennings waiting for him to look at his injuries. Doug gave Hakime some morphene to relax him while they flew back. Ok Bill lets have a look Bill took off his shirt for the medic to see better. Well it looks like you have a few blisters and slight burns but other than that your fine. They flew back to HQ and stopped and went down the grav lift but Doug, Hakime, and William the others were going to get medics. The two sergents headed for General Coopman for debriefing.
"Put him on the strecher" said one of the medics
HQ had a hundred marines board the ship along with some pilots and engineers and flew the ship to ONI while Hakime Muhamed and Bill Hamilton went to the medical base for treatment and the rest were debriefed and went to the mess hall and set together.
"Sodo you think they'll put us in the same group next time?" said Franklin Smith
"I don't know but next time we need more intel and more men" said Sgt. Jackson
The speakers came on in the mess hall "All teams to battle stations covenant forces are on there way here"
