Unknowingly
I look into my scope
I see my target
A target unknowing
Unknowing but deserving
Deserving for the lives he killed
Deserving for the worlds he destroyed
Deserving for the millions he killed and hurt
I place my last round into its chamber
I prime my rifle, and aim
I aim for the neck
A long, agonizing death
A death unknown but deserved
Click!
My projectile leaves its muzzle
Destined for a kill
My last round
Last kill Game Over They close in on me
Pursuing ever closer
Becoming bolder, they approach
I am powerless to stop them
The Covenant onslaught
It's headed for me
The Covenant juggernaut, it's after me
One last breathe
One last moment
I am struck down, unable to recover
