After the failed attempt to destroy the human barricade, Ship master Fulsamee ordered that the phantoms take all the ground troops down to the planet below! "Field Master Portumee", Fulsamee called over the loudspeaker just prior to launch, "Report to my office immediately!"

Field Master Portumee was overseeing the preparations his troops were making for the imminent ground engagement when he heard the order! He arrived mere units after the order was issued! "Sir?", he asked. "What is it Sir?" Fulsamee's response was one that Portumee had hoped to hear since he had first been promoted to Field Master! "Portumee, you are to accompany your troops to the surface!" Portumee was ecstatic! "Sir, I…I…I don't know what to say. I've wished this for so long!" Fulsamee was amused at how excited his friend had become but was some how able to conceal it! "You are hereby promoted to Master of all combat stations, be it on ship or on the field of battle!" Again Portumee was speechless! "You can don your new armor and gear at the Armory." Now Portumee was confused. "New armor sir?" "Yes indeed", Fulsamee replied, "This new armor is golden with a navy blue under-layer." Portumee still stood there showing his confusion. "What was wrong with my other armor?" Fulsamee nearly laughed right then and there. "Not only did your old armor not show your rank but the armor we are about to put you into, is the armor worn by the demons…with a few modifications!" Portumee glared at him questioningly. "We installed a camo-stealth generator and adjusted it to fit the contour of our species." Portumee's expression slowly changed into one of excitement! "You mean…", Portumee started to ask, "I mean exactly that", Fulsamee answered. "Then what are we waiting for?", Portumee burst out.

After being fit to his armor, Portumee bid his friend farewell and boarded his phantom. He gave the command that all the troops were waiting for. They were going to the surface to eliminate the humans once and for all!

"Ship Master we have a problem!" "What is it?" Fulsamee asked when he heard this. "One of the bombs that our boarders took with them has been returned to our ship and activated. It'll detonate in three units…two…" Fulsamee whispered beneath his breath "Good luck my friend, I'll see you in the greatness beyond." "One…detona…"

Portumee was halfway down to the surface when he got a sudden feeling of dread and regret. Why, he didn't know but he unbuckled his harness and went to a nearby window and looked out. The sight that met his eyes rendered him dumbfounded. Where Fulsamee's capitol ship once was, there was now no more than a cloud of debris! He looked to the faces of his brethren who rode in the phantom with him. He glanced from one face to another and they watched him with questioning looks on their armored faces! Portumee had to choke back his feelings momentarily so he could say what was needed. "Our brother's blood has been spilt by the vile humans. They have destroyed our capitol ship under which my closest friend was master. Therefore, they are to pay the most precious price of all, their lives! If they want a fight we will give it to them. Show no mercy, for you shall receive none in return. We must be swift and powerful when we attack. They wish to kill us so we must beat them to it. Remember, you will fight to the death but now you have more to fight for then just your faith. You are fighting to avenge the deaths of our fallen comrades. They will be avenged. I may be ordering you to your deaths, but if that is so, then I soon shall follow! Who will fight with me?"

The last two sentences were what brought all of those in the phantom to life. They started to scream of their own grievances and vowed to fight. They vowed that all who lost their lives at failed battles were going to be avenged and get the honor they deserved. They had a full battalion of angry covenant forces who would kill everything it takes to suppress the anger and dread that they felt. Portumee looked upon the faces of the warriors around him! There was no way that there were enough enemies in the whole human race to avenge what he personally felt let alone the rest of his forces! Beneath his breath he made a vow to one lost warrior alone. "Fulsamee, all those who die by my blade are never going to return you to my side, but the number of near-death conflicts will possibly bring me to yours! Your death will be avenged, I swear it!"
