Battling through and through

We go through battles day after day.
I snipe them all through and through.
But,through each battle one fellow
spartan fall one by one each battle victory.
I ask why am I'm the only one who survive?
I go through groups that end up getting shot down.
That sadness nearly have driven me mad.
I find the answer I'm looking for and its only luck.
Then why have my luck have not give up on me?
But then I realize I said my question outloud.
A fellow spartan went over to me and said
"Because you live to fight another day you never gave up".
That struck me through and through and through.
Then I said, "Yes we are the spartans that live to fight another day"
