No Blessings To Count
Luckily for Ariana, her savior's body broke the fall...
So here I die, and with my blurry eyes
I look at the sky, counting my bruises.
There was one that took my pride,
And another that inspired suicide.
One was caused by me,
Caused by my lack of dignity.
So here I lay, just wasting away
Ever since that day, counting my mistakes.
I should have come back home,
But now I live in a barren world of chrome.
I should have stopped the car in time,
But now I will never again realize the meaning—
Of sublime.
So here I cry, blinking my sobbing eyes,
Looking at the sky, just looking at the sky...
The sky that turned from cheerful blue
To hellish and stormy, a grisly hue.
The sky that for just a fleeting second,
Promised happiness was just around the bend,
Is now, suddenly, bleeding fiery tears.
So here I hold, trying to be bold,
This girl folded in my arms.
My world has fallen.
I have fallen.
But she still stands.
Nothing else matters.
