Romulus huffed with satisfaction. The Slipspace time shifter was ready, Prophets be praised. "Come on, you weaklings!" The Brute growled. He led a squad of Brutes and Jackals. They had to secure the other side so more Covenant could come through and secure the Human homeworld before the war even started.

Jeza Honzlee watched secretly using his active camo. He had infiltrated the Brutes encampment easily. Intelligence suggested that the brutes had a special tool to win the civil war. He was ordered to find out what this "special" tool was. He now knew. He contacted his commanding officer.
"Your Excellency," He said into the communicator. " the Brutes have a time gate here." he continued. "they plan to destroy the Human homeworld before the war even starts." The Brutes started to walk through the gate.
"I am going through, you must attack and secure this gate. Please send me assistance when you can." The Elite then dived through the gate.

Casey sat up in his room. Sleep did not come easily. He was cleaning his rifle. He loved his rifle, he had just spent a day at the shooting range. It was an old W.W.II Springfield sniper rifle.
"What the fuck!?" he yelped as he saw a blue shimmer form in his backyard.
He quickly assembled the rifle and loaded five shells into the internal magazine. Fortunately his USP was loaded and assembled. Confused, he ran up the steps to the attic. He kicked the window out, it had been nailed in place years ago when his parents had still been alive. he now had a clear view of the yard and the blue shimmer. The shimmer had expanded and was now big enough to fit a truck through.
"What the hell!?" he thought as a handful of figures of appeared in the shimmer. They were big, at least 7 feet tall, and they held red claw like things in his hand.
"That thing doesn't look friendly." he thought. they looked like big-ass monkeys. They were ripped, arms as big around as a dinner plate.

Romulus came through the gate, plasma rifle sweeping the area. There was a structure directly in front of him. It was a squat four-walled structure. He then noticed a barrel protruding from the highest opening.
"Take cover!" He barked as the rifle sticking out the window fired with a thunderclap. That was the last thing he did. The projectile fired from the rifle entered directly above the right eye at a downward angle, passed through the Brute's tiny brain, and exited out the back of his head and hit a Jackal in the chest, knocking the breath from its tiny lungs.

"Yes!" Casey whooped. The time at the shooting range had been well spent. He had gotten a headshot on the big-ass monkey. The monkey crumpled to the ground as the rest of the figures scattered. As Casey worked the bolt on the rifle he saw a red light fly past him and into the ceiling. The wood started to burn. "TIme to run." Casey thought as the roof started to burn. "Bastards are burning down my house!" He noted angrily. He went to his room and grabbed his neck knife, an extra magazine for his handgun and exited the house. Casey's plan was to go to his friends house and link up with him. His friend has all his ammo and some extra guns.

Jeza Honzlee came through the gate in time to see a flash from the highest opening in the building in front of him. The Brute in front of him yelled something and crumpled from a projectile in its head. the human who had shoot the Brute must be an excellent marksman, too bad he will die. There is a small chance he will get away, but it was unlikely. He noticed the Jackal on the ground gasp for air. Jeza put his boot on the Jackal's head and pressed down and was awarded with a crunch. It turned out the human was going to get away. The human was dressed in clothing on the lower part of his body, but the rest was bare. The human was muscular and tall by human standards, Jeza then noticed the rifle across the human's back, and the human was brandishing a pistol.
"I must track him, he may be the only chance to start a human resistance here." The Elite thought. The human went onto the street and reached do to grab something. The human had a disc-like object in his hands, he set it on the road, and dropped through the road.
"That is odd." The Elite thought, and decided to investigate. There was a hole in the road the led to a passage. The stench was horrible, but the Elite decided to follow the human and talk to him when the time was right.
