Skav: "Sorry. Just thought I would tell you the answers to the crossword puzzle."
MORNINGSTAR: "You mean you really had an answer? You didn't just make up some fake piece of crap?"
Skav: "Of course not. Geeez. Here is how it went."
First layer of the puzzle was the word search. That was where you simply find all the words hidden. That was really meant to clutter your puzzle up so it was hard to see anything deeper. That worked like a charm.
(I really dont need to show a picture of that now do I?)
Second layer was also pretty simple for any true Bungie/Halo fans. It's all about the numerals? 7's? Circle every 7th word of every 7th line, it spells
SEVEN LINES SEVEN TURNS SPELL WHATS FLYIN?
Third layer was a bit harder. You had to find the seven turns and spell whats flyin. Some people found the hidden sentence but never found the 7th letter of each 7th line, so they had no idea what to do with it. Others found the 7th lettr of the 7th line and couldn't find the hidden sentence.
The sentence was a continuous line with 7 distinct legs. Below shows in GREEN where the 7th letter of each 7th line was. Another pic below shows the run-on sentence and each of its connecting legs. Did I say 'Connecting"...? Yes, I did. That means that each time the sentence took a change in direction, it made a 'corner'. HMMmmm...? Weren't we looking for a corner? Or several corners? I put the long run-on sentence below in red. Each time it turned, I placed the turn letter in BLUE ok? So you find the 7th letter of every 7th line. (simple) Then when you locate the long run-on sentence and read it... well, it asks you to look for the corners, the changes, the turns. At each corner, at each turns the letters are P E L I C A N. (still in blue) So guess what our answer to "Spell what's flyin?" is? A Pelican!
Now go look closer.

Every 7th letter on every 7th line in the word search spells out "seven lines seven turns spell whats flyin." I then found the phrase "hurricanehalo" in the puzzle (which is not on the word list), plus Skavenger's link at the bottom of his HBO posts link to the Hurricane Halo video, so I downloaded that and looked through it. I took "lines" to mean lines, or quotes, from movies. I took "turns" to mean a pan of the camera. In the Hurricane Halo video, immediately after the clip containing the seventh pan and the seventh quote, pelicans are shown flying in the opening cutscene to Silent Cartographer.
